Stress-Free Homeschool Testing

We are your source for Oregon state-approved homeschool testing.

My Reading Tutors is approved through the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) to administer homeschool testing.  Under Oregon Law (ORS 330.035), all students who are homeschooled are required to test at the end of grades 3, 5, 8, and 10, with two exceptions:

  1. Students participating in interscholastic activities are required to test annually
  2. Students with disabilities, and an IEP or a PDP that indicates methods other than testing should be used to indicate satisfactory progress

At My Reading Tutors, we recognize that every family's needs are unique. That's why we offer two comprehensive testing options:

  1. Online at-home tests: Seamlessly administer tests from the comfort of your home, providing a stress-free testing experience for both students and parents. Click here to learn more.
  2. Private in-person paper and pencil tests: For those preferring a traditional approach, our private in-person testing ensures accuracy and reliability while maintaining accessibility. Click here to learn more.

Vocational Testing for Middle and High School Students

Help your teen discover their strengths and possible career choices.

My Reading Tutors can administer and interpret the Self-Directed Search Assessment for your middle and high school students. Developed by John Holland, the Self-Directed Search (SDS) is a renowned career assessment tool designed to guide individuals in uncovering suitable career paths. Rooted in Holland's theory of vocational personalities and environments, the SDS evaluates students' interests, aptitudes, and preferences across various occupational domains. Through self-reflection and analysis, students are steered towards potential career options that resonate with their unique personality types, fostering informed decision-making and boosting career satisfaction.

Accessible online from the comfort of students' homes using personal devices, the SDS offers a convenient way to explore career possibilities. Upon completion, students receive comprehensive reports detailing their vocational interests and potential career paths. To further assist students in comprehending and leveraging these results, we offer personalized 60-minute consultations. During these sessions, our tutors delve into the findings, explore potential career avenues, and provide tailored guidance to empower students in making informed decisions about their professional futures.
