Deb specializes in tutoring K-12 students in all areas of reading, writing, language arts, math, science, study and organization skills, Spanish, test-taking skills, and ESL (English as a second language). She believes the best gift to give children is the love of learning, the joy of discovery, and the thrill of problem solving. Her teaching and tutoring background includes teaching at homeschool co-ops; tutoring K-1 students in a statewide reading buddy program; proctoring standardized testing; and leading 4-H, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Junior Achievement programs. Deb is also a trained mediator through the University of New Mexico. She has earned Orton-Gillingham certification, TEFL certification (Teaching English to Foreign Learners), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Relations.

Her teaching and tutoring background includes working in Montessori classrooms; leading reading, writing, cooking, drama, and science classes in homeschool co-ops; and conducting one-on-one tutoring sessions to struggling readers, writers, and ESL learners. Dawn is also a published author, book editor, and writing coach who has worked in the publishing industry since 1998.
